Responsibility as part of good taste
Our sustainable focus

Energy from the sun's rays
On Bornholm, we take advantage of the many hours of sunshine with over 100 solar panels, which supply 52% of our energy. This significantly reduces our CO2 emissions – and you can taste it in our caramels.

Plastic-free and FSC-Certified Packaging
Our packaging is completely plastic-free and made from FSC-certified cardboard, which supports responsible forestry. Instead of plastic windows, we print images of our products directly on the boxes. The candies are wrapped in compostable cellophane, which decomposes in just 43 days and can be thrown directly into the green compost.
Metal waste is a valuable resource that there is increasing focus on collecting and recycling in Denmark. Waste sorting is crucial, and fortunately 75% of all metal is recycled – including our cans.

Purchasing and Production
To reduce our carbon footprint, we source our raw materials as close as possible – primarily from Denmark and our neighboring countries in Europe. This reduces transport emissions and supports local jobs. We also recycle water in production through a closed loop and ensure waste sorting, so that metal from our cans can be recycled, among other things.

Community and well-being
Well-being, inclusion and community are central to us. We eat lunch together every day, and every Friday we celebrate our colleagues' efforts with the "Happy Hat". This contributes to the positive atmosphere and good team spirit - and ensures that everyone is seen.
We have created a program where we help citizens who have been away from the labor market for a long time get back into the labor market. This is about creating security, building self-esteem and slowly introducing the citizen to the workplace, both in terms of responsibility and social life – and often they become permanent employees with us after the course.

Ecology on the wish list
Organic has been on our wish list since 2006, but suppliers are not yet able to deliver raw materials in the required quality and quantity. We are now exploring opportunities in the EU to achieve the goal of 100% organic production.

Fairtrade?
We have opted out of Fairtrade as quality and compliance with guidelines are not sufficiently documented.
