How the Karamel Company came into being
Bornholm gourmet caramels since 2004 – based on an English family recipe from 1894
Everything that comes from Karamel Kompagniet is touched by the heart and is a tribute to good craftsmanship. Everything is done with responsibility and respect for nature, which will be passed on to future generations.

When the mouth closes on a heavenly taste,
... the eyes often do the same. For a brief moment you are right here. Right now. The world moves on, but it often happens that you quickly look back – and your hand reaches for another caramel!
The Caramel Company is the story of an heirloom from 1894. A worn cookbook, repaired with tape and with small handwritten notes. It is the story of the memory of the senses, especially when it comes to scents.
That's my story. I am the founder of Karamel Kompagniet. Built on my grandmother's cookbook from 1894 with the recipe for caramels.
It's the sweet scent of caramelized sugar, butter and cream from childhood memories, when my grandmother stood in the kitchen at home in England, and when I, as little Anna, watched. It's the love my grandmother stirred into the copper pot so that the caramels became soft without losing their bite.

The meaning of it all is still the same as from the beginning. Karamel Kompagniet was created to create presence through taste experiences. Every single caramel should be associated with the joy of anticipation, like when you unwrap a gift. Every single caramel should fill your mouth so much that you can taste that you have made an effort. That life and soul have been put into every little bite.
Everything that comes from Karamel Kompagniet is touched by the heart and is a tribute to good craftsmanship. Everything is done with responsibility and respect for the nature that will be passed on to the next generations. It is a joy and a value that is sent out into the world from Bornholm daily.
With love from
Anna

In this picture you can see my grandmother being held by my great-great-grandfather. He was a butcher in England and drove around to customers with goods.
